NYS recently adopted new laws and guidelines regarding sexual harassment prevention policies.  You can visit the DOL website to review this information by clicking here. The website contains sample policies, complaint forms, employee training requirements and a Q&A.  The first step for compliance is adopting a sexual harassment policy that meets the minimum requirements established by the state.  The sample policy on their website is one example.  

The Comp Alliance has created a sample harassment policy and employee complaint form that are both available through our Loss Control Resources portion of the Members Only Website.  Annual training is also an additional component of the new legislation and must be accomplished by October of 2019.  The Comp Alliance will be providing members with more information on how we can help you with the new training requirements.  

We encourage you to work with your municipal and labor attorneys to make sure the policy you adopt conforms to the new requirements as well as working with your other municipal policies.
