The Comp Alliance Risk Management team prides itself on providing top-notch safety training resources for our members. We offer programs in various formats:
- Virtually via Teams: Every Monday at 10:00 AM. Topics include Workplace Violence, Right-to-Know, and Bloodborne Pathogens. Additional topics are available by member request. Staff can attend either individually or as part of a group presentation.
- In-Person: Our Risk Control Specialists will visit your facilities for in-person training at your request. Regional programs are also encouraged, where nearby members can attend.
- Comp Academy: Our online, pre-recorded training courses, on a variety of in-demand safety topics, are available to all staff with an email address to be completed at their leisure.
Additionally, the Comp Academy has undergone some recent improvements, including management oversight and added training topics. Safety training topics include:
- New – Seasonal Hires (one with Sexual Harassment Prevention and one without)
- Reasonable Suspicion
- Safe Lifting
- Heat Stress
- Lockout/Tagout
- Confined Space Entry
- Trenching and Shoring
- Distracted Driving
- Ergonomics: Computer Workstations
- Several others
When your staff completes these training courses, they can obtain a Certificate of Completion to share with relevant management. If you’re looking for more, then the website offers reference documents on these safety topics. Also, don’t forget about access to thousands of safety videos through Safety Source Online.
The latest feature of the Comp Academy is groups. This allows those managing your organization’s Comp Academy training to not only approve email addresses for registration and assign a set of courses, but also track their completion with access to all group members’ certificates. While one group administrator is required, you can create different groups and assign multiple employees to manage them, based on your needs. Are you already taking advantage of the Comp Academy? Great news! There is a way to add existing users to a group so you can more closely monitor their progress. Additionally, group administrators can mark required courses as complete for employees who take one or more classes outside of the Comp Academy.
